South Florida

Alliance for Response South Florida is an alliance of artists, museums, archives, libraries, galleries, cultural institutions, and emergency responders in Broward, Miami-Dade, and Monroe counties focused on communications, training, and networking. We aim to work across all local art and cultural institutions along with the local emergency services to develop mutual understanding in advance of any emergency and/or disaster. AFR South Florida is also a Weather Ready Nation Ambassador for the National Weather Service. For details on this program please visit here.

Operation Heritage Tabletop Exercise

The objectives of these exercises were to evaluate the AFR members individual plans/procedures, encourage collaboration among members and strengthen the relationship of the Alliance for Response with the Office of Emergency Management.  The exercise participants included numerous institutions to include Barry University, Patricia and Phillip Frost Art Museum, Florida International University, the Wolfsonian, the Patricia and Phillip Frost Science Museum, the Historic Homestead Townhall Museum and the Miami-Dade County Office of Emergency Management.
