Happy Hour, May 30, 7:30-9 pm
ECPN's Annual Happy Hour provided the opportunity for emerging conservation professionals to connect with peers and network with established professionals in a fun and relaxed setting. The event was sponsored by the Getty Conservation Institute and was held at Grotto Ristorante across the street from the Marriott Marquis Houston.

Informational Meeting, May 31, 1:15-2 pm
This meeting involved a presentation by ECPN leadership on current and upcoming initiatives. Conference attendees were encouraged to ask questions about how AIC and ECPN operate and voice ideas for building community and resources to support emerging conservation professionals.

Poster Session Lightning Round, June 2, 10 am-12 pm
This fun and informal event highlighted the contributions of emerging conservation professionals to the Annual Meeting Poster Session. The lightning round included presentations by Brooke W. Young Russell, Sydney Beall, Marci Jefcoat Burton, Morgan Burgess, Tia Polidori, Katie Rovito Katrina Zacharias, Lauren Calcote, Stephanie Cashman, Kelly Conlin, Quinn Morgan Ferris, Annabelle Fichtner, Andrea Hall, Molly McGath, Erin Murphy, Mary Wilcop, and Joy Bloser.

ECPN-ECC Networking Luncheon, May 15, 12-2pm
Sponsored by AIC and co-organized with Emerging Conservators Committee of the Canadian Association for Conservation (CAC-ECC), this luncheon program focused on how to cultivate mentorship relationships and offered participants an opportunity to network. It featured a discussion of career pathways by Sarah Melching, updates from ECPN and ECC leadership, as well as a talk by Jeanne Baudry Tardif and Tracy Satin, a mentor-mentee pair matched through CAC-ECC’s mentorship program.

Moderated by ECPN Chair Megan Salazar-Walsh, this panel included Ana Alba, Stephanie Hornbeck, Lara Kaplan, Cynthia Kuniej-Berry, and Emily MacDonald Korth. Panelists discussed the benefits, challenges and fine points of establishing a private practice as an emerging conservator and fielded questions.

Panel participants included Suzanne Davis, Avigail Charnov, Kathleen Keifer, and Gwen Manthey, moderated by ECPN officer Caroline Roberts. Presentations focused on  case studies for building a conservation portfolio, creating an online or digital portfolio, and professional development “beyond the portfolio.”
