Events

We plan events throughout the year to bring together the international community of contemporary art conservators and preservation professionals. Volunteer to help plan events you're interested in, or reach out to an officer with your idea!

CAN! Conversations

We host a series of discussions on the quandaries of conserving contemporary art. Members propose topics, and we hold the sessions seasonally over Zoom. Do you have a topic to propose for a future conservation? Send your ideas to Martha Singer at martha@materialwhisperer.com.

Reading Group

Our reading group meets on Zoom in 1-hour sessions to discuss select recent contributions to contemporary art conservation theory and to critically assess these readings in a relaxed and informal manner. This is intended to be an open space where we can grapple with our perspectives on some of the more nuanced and complex aspects of the field and our practice. Everyone is welcome!

All of these articles are open access but please feel free to reach out if you have difficulty finding them in advance of the sessions. We look forward to seeing you!
