Deployments

Procedure for Deployments

  1. A call comes into the NHR hotline: (202) 661-8068.
  2. The NHR team member volunteering that month answers the hotline call, which forwards to their home, office, or cell phone.
  3. The hotline volunteer gathers key data and contacts using a form to organize information and then forwards that information to the NHR Coordinator (Rebecca Elder).
  4. The NHR Coordinator consults with the Emergency Programs Coordinator on staff in putting together an Incident Action Plan (if warranted) and begins to contact and/or solicit volunteers.
  5. The NHR Coordinator and Emergency Programs Coordinator make arrangements for travel, housing, and supplies. A team leader is identified to be the main liaison on the ground.
